I know that Halloween is already far away; but the colours from bad slasher movies’ VHS covers remain in my mind. It’s not Spring either, so why pastel and acid tones? Probably just because they are very Eighties, very Miles Aldridge, and very enjoyable. Hope you like the palettes!
Most of the covers come from this fabulous website; the catwalk pictures are from different seasons; most of the paintings are by Cremonini, other by Dan Flavin. The first painting is The Deposition by Pontormo… and then loads of pictures from Miles; Isabella Blow;VALENTINO HAUTE COUTURE SS2010 (my favourite Couture collection ever), etc. etc.

Just wanted to thank you for your recent comments. I agree that Christmas windows are a little too opulent, but then again, the main reason department stores go overboard is that the windows are for the children, not the adults. The Printemps displays even have little platforms for the kiddies to stand on, so a lot of it is a show for them. I think for minimalist windows, you’ll need to go to DSM ;-)
By the way, I’ll be moving to London for a few months starting next week (I guess I’ll see the cheesiness of Selfridges myself). Let me know if you ever want to meet up! :)

Quella collezione couture di Valentino più la guardo e più mi convince.. ho delle foto scattate nel backstage… magari te le passo… rendono incredibilmente. Adoro questi colori pastellati ma preferisco la versione spenta nella cenere… quella palette pastellata che rintracciamo spesso in Marni… colori saturi spenti nella nebbia… nel diaccio di una mattina londinese. Per me la fw è tendenzialmente color zucca… adoro questo colore… hai presente i colletti miu miu? Molto candy ma impercettibilmente desaturati col grigio. Love. Per quanto riguarda Pontormo… non potevi scegliere di meglio… io ci avrei accostato anche una tela di Edward Hopper. Ben ritrovata.
