Dear readers, merry Christmas and a happy new year to you all! I sincerely hope that your 2011 will be absolutely fabulous, possibly extravagant and very glamorous… just as a bal masqué… so maybe this post can inspire you for your New Year’s Eve look as well! Thank you again and again for your marvellous support, best, your Isy xx

From Carlos de Bestegui to Truman Capote, from Louis XIV to the Baron de Rédé… masks and masquerades, floating capes; black, red and white; carnival spirit, ribbons and absent stares, ruffles gauze and lace, actresses and photographers, historic parodies, theatre, music, secrets and mysteries.

happy belated new year to you as well!!!
how glamorously mystic masks are!!! hiding behind the mask … just observing and plotting, haha!!! sometimes, dont’ we all feel our society is just abit too transparent??
you reminded me a series of fotos i took of my partner w/ white masks … is should do a post on that!!! xx
sei sempre un pozzo di idee e creatività!
è un’emozione leggerti ;)
Hey. Awesome blog. Where has the last 30 minutes gone?. Keep up the good work. Number Plates.
I think there’s such power in being able to hide your own identity and enter a new year behind a mask. A reintroduction and reinvention of self. Maybe I’m just too poetic.
Hi dear! Sorry for late reply but we both have been really busy with school and I have been sick!
Hope you had an amazing New Years Eve & can’t wait for your posts!!

Love these. Is that a swan dress I see in the editorial? Very different from what Bjork wore back then ;-) I saw too many bad touristy ones in Venice, but real Venetian handcrafted masks are stunning… I still intend to get one.
